Faculty members from FEU Tech's EEE Department presented their paper in international conferences here and abroad.
The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Region 10 Conference (IEEE TENCON 2018) or TENCON is a premier international technical conference in the Asia Pacific Region. Held this year in Jeju, South Korea, Engr. Antipas Teologo Jr. was invited to talk about his paper titled 'Air Quality Index (AQI) Classification using CO and NO2 Pollutants: A Fuzzy-based Approach'.
With the theme 'Intelligence Outbreak,' international researchers and engineers from the academe and industry gathered for the four-day event to share ideas in the fields of electrical, electronic, and computer engineering.
Engr. Teologo's work will be included in the SCOPUS-indexed IEEE Xplore digital library, an exclusive online archive of scientific abstracts.
Meanwhile, Engr. Francis B. Malit and Engr. Pocholo James M. Loresco presented their papers at the 10th International Conference on Humanoid, Nanotechnology, Information Technology, Communication and Control, Environment and Management (IEEE HNICEM 2018) in Baguio City.
Engr. Malit's paper discussed 'Adaptive Boost Converter Control for 3D Printer Offset and Joggling Correction.' It was co-authored by EEE Director Dr. Romano Q. Neyra, Engr. Irister Javel, and Engr. Melodia Pahati.
Engr. Loresco discussed the 'Detection of R Peaks and RR Intervals in Electrocardiogram Print-outs Using Wavelet Transforms and Hough Transforms' co-authored with Dr. May Rose C. Imperial, King Harold A. Recto, and Francisco L. Uyvico Jr. and Viola-Jones Method of Marker Detection for Scale-Invariant Calculation of Lettuce Leaf Area.
Engr. Loresco's other works with co-authors were also presented; 'Vision-based Canopy Area Measurements,' and 'Selection of Color Models for Growth Stage Identification of Cherry Tomato Crop using KNN.'
The 10th HNICEM organized by the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society, Philippines Chapter is another premier international technical conference in the Asia Pacific Region. It has been providing an important forum for researchers and engineers from industry, for professors and graduate students.
