FEU Tech at 34: Celebrating Foundation Week in Full Force

Posted: 2026-03-02

This year’s founding anniversary at FEU Institute of Technology was nothing short of groundbreaking. Overloaded with creative booths, fun-filled activities, and engaging events, TechnoWeek 2026: 34GB - Groundbreaking Bytes of Innovation had the entire campus locked in from February 16 to 21, with the FEU Tech Student Coordinating Council and Student Activities and Development Office (SADO) leading the charge.

The week’s lineup of events started with a solemn Thanksgiving Mass at the Student Plaza led by Fr. Esmeraldo Enalpe, OFM, commemorating the Institute’s storied history and celebrating the Tamaraw community’s enduring spirit and collective achievements. This was immediately followed by vibrant performances from the Malabon Marching Band, the FEU Diliman Drummers, Music Synergy, and Exude. Mr. Remris Sabusap, SADO Assistant Coordinator, officiated the ribbon-cutting ceremony as concessionaire booths officially set up shop across the Plaza.

Meanwhile, students turned up at the 17th Floor Multi-Purpose Room to learn about energy efficiency, sustainability, and modern trends in climate control in an interactive seminar conducted by ASHRAE’s student chapter on campus. Along with guest speakers Engr. Dexter Detabali and Engr. Jhon Rojo, delegates from Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, Technological University of the Philippines Manila, and Adamson University were also present at the session.

The week-long festivity continued all throughout campus, with multiple sessions happening here and there—Artist Connection's Exude dancers taught people how to move and groove in their sweat-inducing dance class, while the Student Association for Game Endeavors (SAGE) held a Magic: The Gathering workshop so newbies can learn the rules of the game. Monza Barcade, the first Formula 1-themed high-fidelity racing simulator in the country, was a particular attention-grabber, ultimately becoming the crowd favorite as time went on.

TechnoWeek also housed a movie night for cinephile students and associates. Hosts from Tambayan TV set the mood with an interactive game to break the ice before the crowd settled in, popcorn in hand, for La La land, this year's featured film. But the festivities reached a fever pitch with the “After Class Groove: Final Set” on February 21, a culminating concert that showcased both guest performers and homegrown talent.

Pinoy bands Salamangkero and Goyo headlined the evening performances with a repertoire of OPM hits. Meanwhile, FEU Tech's own Adrian Pomarejos and Dave Vicencio took the spotlight and serenaded the Tamaraw crowd. The icing to the cake was the Exude dancers' jaw-dropping set and contagious energy. The night continued with a fiery mixset by DJ Knt Aljndr before SCC Vice President for Externals Eion Rhys Ojana delivered his closing remarks, thanking the community for their active participation and the successful execution of TechnoWeek.
