Seoul, South Korea - Micah Sophia Q. Tan, a BS Computer Science student specializing in Software Engineering, attended the TOPCIT (Test of Practical Competency in IT) Awards Ceremony 2024 at COEX Seoul last July 17 to receive the Presidential Commissioner for Higher Education Award for achieving the highest score in the Philippine TOPCIT. She was accompanied by Computer Science faculty member Abraham T. Magpantay.
Micah will also be part of the TOPCIT Human Resource Development (HRD) Program which includes visits to leading Korean IT companies, participation in the Unmanned System World Congress (UWC), and opportunities to experience and appreciate Korean culture.

The TOPCIT exam assesses skills and competencies in various areas of computing and information technology and is a partnership of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the Institute for Information & Communication Technology Planning & Evaluation (IITP) of the Government of the Republic of South Korea.
