Innovation, Experimentation, and Collaboration – these are what make Global Game Jam (GGJ) 2020 a hit among FEU Tech students. GGJ is the world’s largest game jam event (game creation) taking place all over the world at various physical locations.
The 12th GGJ took place between January 31 and February 2, with 938 jam sites across 119 countries with FEU Tech as one of the Philippine sites. Gyko Blancaflor, president of the Alliance of Information Technology Students and head organizer for this event, graced the event at FEU Tech.
A special video, synchronized with all the jam sites across the world, was played to feature a message from the keynote speaker, Chris Avellone and to reveal this year’s theme – Repair.
GGJ is a unique idea that is focused on game development by allowing gamers to be creative, to share experiences and to express themselves in a multitude of ways using video games through a 48-hour game development. Jammers are given a single, central theme for their games as they simultaneously gather the so-called jam sites which refer to different physical locations around the world.
