Two bright young minds from FEU Institute of Technology bring pride to the Tamaraw community after being declared CHAMPIONS of the Digitalization Track at the prestigious BPI D.A.T.A. Wave Hackathon & Summit 2025.
Jansen Moral, a BS Computer Science student with a specialization in Software Engineering, and Cristen Tolentino, a BS Computer Engineering student, bested over 1,000 student participants from across the Philippines to earn the coveted top spot in Digitalization.
Their innovative solution, BIPBIP (Branch Intelligence Platform), is an AI-powered analytics solution designed to transform BPI’s branch operations. This enables banks to optimize customer flow, staff productivity, and service delivery, which impressed judges and showcased the duo’s technical excellence, teamwork, and vision for the future of technology in the country.
The BPI D.A.T.A. (Data, Analytics, Transformation, and AI) Wave Hackathon & Summit is a nationwide competition designed to empower Filipino students and young professionals in harnessing the power of data and technology.
Organized by Eskwelabs in partnership with the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), the program is anchored on the theme: “Better Philippines Through Innovation.”
Before the hackathon, all participants joined an intensive learning sprint that included human-centered design, AI solution blueprinting, and storytelling workshops. Winning teams receive not only cash prizes but also opportunities for internships or career pathways with BPI, further bridging academia with industry.
