Posted: 2025-10-17

FEU Institute of Technology has once again proven its mettle in the field of cybersecurity, clinching the Champion title at the Cybersecurity Capture the Flag (CTF) University Tournament held last October 6, 2025, at the Asian Institute of Management.

Organized by Hexcore Labs PH in celebration of the Department of Information and Communications Technology’s (DICT) National Cybersecurity Month, the nationwide competition brought together 16 top universities in a rigorous test of cybersecurity knowledge, critical thinking, and teamwork. FEU Tech’s winning team, composed of B.S> Cybersecurity students Nathan Cabrales, Earl Camama, Aaron Garcia, Julio Pedreña, Gwen Tendero, and guided by their coach Abricam Tinga, emerged victorious in locating coded flags under intense CTF challenges.

The event marked the launch of Hexcore Labs Philippines, the local arm of Singapore-based Hexcore Labs, a startup that gamifies cybersecurity education. The tournament gathered over 140 students across two major competitions: the CTF and the AI Hackathon.

FEU Tech’s triumph in the CTF competition underscores its commitment to innovation, digital resilience, and global competitiveness.

This victory not only celebrates the brilliance of FEU Tech’s students but also reinforces the institute’s role in shaping future-ready professionals in cybersecurity—a field critical to national development and global security.
