As a response to the rapidly evolving field and vast potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI), the College of Computer Studies and Multimedia Arts (CCSMA) will introduce AI specialization for the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS) this coming year.
For the past two years, FEU Tech has been offering new specializations in pursuit of its mandate to provide quality, relevant, innovative, and industry-based education. Specializations in Data Science, Innovation and Business, and Business Analytics were successfully established this current school year by the CCSMA. AI will be the third specialization offered in the BSCS program and is consistent in producing competent and conscientious professionals.
AI seeks to develop computer systems that can execute tasks traditionally associated with human intelligence including learning, problem-solving, reasoning, understanding natural language, speech recognition, and visual perception. It enables computers to learn from data and use that data to make predictions or decisions. Also, AI technologies have the potential to create significant positive changes in society through innovations in healthcare, education, and finding solutions to environmental problems.
The BSCS program with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence helps produce students who are computing professionals equipped with special skills like natural language processing, computer vision, reinforcement learning, etc. With this specialization, Tamaraws can stand out in the job market.
