In a bid to inspire the next generation of sustainability leaders, the FEU Tech Innovation Center (FTIC), in collaboration with the Admissions and External Relations Office (AERO) and UNDP Philippines, successfully hosted Green Futures: Shaping Careers in Sustainability and Innovation on December 2, 2024 at the FTIC venue on the 5th floor of the FEU Engineering Building in Sampaloc, Manila.
The one-day event brought together Grade 12 students from St. Joseph College of Novaliches Inc. for an immersive program designed to promote sustainability awareness, entrepreneurial thinking, and future career readiness in the growing green economy.
As part of FTIC’s Sustainable for Impact series, Green Futures provided participants with a holistic introduction to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), emerging green job trends, and essential future skills for navigating sustainability-focused professions. Through interactive talks and collaborative activities, students learned how innovation and business acumen can be leveraged to tackle environmental challenges.
Organizers said the event aimed to equip young minds with the knowledge and confidence to pursue careers that champion environmental stewardship, ethical entrepreneurship, and positive social impact — values increasingly sought by industries worldwide.
“Green Futures is not just an event — it’s a launching pad for students to see sustainability not only as a global mission but as a viable and meaningful career pathway,” an FTIC representative shared.
The successful turnout highlighted rising student interest in sustainability, innovation, and impact-driven careers, underscoring FTIC’s role in fostering environments where young leaders can grow their skills and lay the groundwork for a greener future.
